Major Objectives: Assist with the implementation of program activities associated with the Head Start Performance Standards. Provide low-income preschool children and their families with a range of services and opportunities resulting in the child meeting or exceeding the expectations for public school enrollment as well as those families becoming more self-sufficient.
Responsibilities:
Implement compliance with requirements of regulatory entities. a. Design of systems to implement Performance Standards. b. Completion of services in Performance Standards.
Plan and monitor program efforts (20%)
Coordinate internal and external strategies (30%)
Conducts staff meetings and participates in other meetings (10%)
Identifies and addresses training needs (10%)
Provide input in the development of the budget (5%)
Complies, develops and discontinues data regarding the program (25%)
General Duties:
Attend
Evaluates staff performance
Authorize travel requests
Coordinate funds for scholarship incentives for staff.
Provide leadership in developing the annual “Self-Assessment”.
Provide leadership in the development of the Community Assessment.
Provide leadership in pre-service and in-service activities.
Provide leadership in developing a program improvement plan.
Provide leadership in improving teacher qualifications.
Ensure that all centers meet or exceed all local, state, and federal requirements.
Provide supervision to content staff and extend authority to recommend to the Policy
Council and the Executive Director the hiring and termination of staff.
Qualifications and Skills:Knowledge of community resources. Travel required 25% of the time will be spent at the CSO office (some overnight travel necessary to attend meetings and conferences). Computer experience preferred. No citations for child abuse or neglect. Must have the ability to analyze budget information, develop and deliver oral/written reports, and approve budget requests based on the availability of funds. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills in order to meet the demands of meeting with parents, local, state, and federal officials, as well as delivering presentations at all levels.
